Does anyone know what the Cathedral of Notre Dame was used for?

The cathedral was just like a church building.  Usually all cathedrals were churches.  The only difference is that the cathedral was 5 times larger.  Notre dame was one of the biggest cathedrals ever built.  The cathedral is 465 feet tall, and 248 feet wide.  The cathedral had two floors, the first floor was used for the worship, and the second floor was to over look the rest of the people in the cathedral.

The most recognized part of the cathedral is all of its stained glass windows.  In all there is over 150 pictures on all of the windows.  The biggest window is the gigantic stained glass window of a rose above the main entire way to get in Notre dame.  Also most of the windows were in the lower level,  because they told the stories that the people were hearing about.  The only windows on the top level is small little windows about two feet in diamiter.
